This multi-volume boxed catalogue is conceived in parts so that it may accompany the exhibition while it is on, and fully document it over its duration. A first set of volumes, of which this is the introductory tome, traces the ideas behind and preparations for Work/Travail/Arbeid as well as its connection to Vortex Temporum. The show’s original program, edited by Bojana Cvejić, is reprinted here. Following the exhibition, a second set of volumes will document and reflect on its unfolding. These will include photographic documentation by Babette Mangolte and Anne Van Aerschot, drawings by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, and new essays by Douglas Crimp, Bojana Cvejić, Brian Dillon, Elena Filipovic, and Catherine Wood
