Sales conditions

The buyer hereby formally confirms he has read and duly accepts the General Terms and Conditions of Sale set out below before finalizing the purchase of his tickets.

This website is administered by WIELS asbl (not-for-profit organization), with registered office at 354 avenue Van Volxem in 1190 Brussels, registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number BE 0478 422 608.

The present General Terms and Conditions apply to all ticket sales conducted by WIELS or to the associated activities through its website, insofar as no derogations are agreed therefrom by way of specific contract clauses agreed between WIELS and the Client. The Client shall consequently not be in a position to invoke the application of its own general or specific terms and conditions, even where the latter set out that they are the sole terms and conditions that apply.

WIELS acts:

  • as an organizer of its own productions.
  • as an editor and distributor of publications.
  • as a service provider for the sale of tickets to its own productions.
  • as a partners and co-producer for certain joint productions.
  • as a service provider for other event organizers and/or venue room lessees, in which case WIELS waives all liability for possible changes of dates, locations, and prices or for the cancellation of events as a result of a decision by the organizers and/or the venue room lessees.


A. Ticket delivery and booking fees
Tickets booked online should be printed at home or picked up from the ticket office.

B. Right of withdrawal
Once paid, no right of withdrawal applies.
Tickets may be returned but only in exchange for vouchers. Returns shall be accepted if requested in writing by e-mail to welcome@wiels.org within 10 working days before the date of the event.
Please make sure you attach the tickets being returned.

C. Picking up your tickets
Event tickets that have been booked and paid in advance may be picked up from the venue’s reception desk one hour before the start of the event.

E. Expiry of your booking
All ticket orders that fail to be paid within 15 working days shall be cancelled.

F. Changes to and/or cancellation of the programme
Reasons beyond our control may cause the programme, distribution, room or the timetable to be changed. Where possible, any such changes shall be announced on our website and our social media. Where dates and/or locations are cancelled or changed, we shall notify you in writing (e-mail), where possible. No such changes shall constitute grounds for refunds or swaps, except if the event is cancelled.

WIELS waives all liability for:

  • event cancellations or postponements
  • the contents of ‘hosted’ events
  • all programme changes
  • changes to an event’s timetable

The ticket beneficiary must comply with the regulations and the customs of the room, regardless of the exhibition or event.

WIELS reserves the right to refuse people access to the building for safety reasons.

We reserve the right to cancel all performances or to deny access to the rooms where we are forced to do so as a result of uncontrollable events or instances of force majeure such as (without this list being limited) bad weather, strike fire, water damage, the illness of a performer, specific measures imposed by the authorities as part of the fight against terrorism, etc. In such cases, we shall propose another date insofar as possible.

G. Discounts for individual tickets
Applicable discounts offered by outside parties cannot be combined and do not apply to WIELS’s premier price category or its season tickets.

H. Private use
WIELS reserves the right to reserve certain spaces at its building for private events. Under such exceptional circumstances, WIELS undertakes to make every effort to keep the impact of this private use down to a minimum.

I. Obligations incumbent on Clients
The Client undertakes to provide his current, complete and up-to-date details when ordering tickets. It is important that the personal data provide are accurate to enable WIELS to notify the Client of any changes in the programme or change of rooms. Where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, WIELS reserves the right to deny or to cancel the sale of the tickets requested. The said personal data may be kept on record to ensure the proper delivery of services by WIELS (read our Privacy Policy).

All instances where false information is provided shall be prosecuted.

A strict smoking ban is in place throughout WIELS’s premises.

No drinks or food are allowed inside the exhibition rooms.

Your contact details enable us to keep you informed of our activities and to notify you of any programme changes. For our hardcopy (paper) publications, please notify us of any changes of address or to let us know you no longer wish to receive them by e-mailing us at welcome@wiels.org. J. Tickets
Tickets must be shown on request. Tickets are neither taken back nor refunded (in case of loss or theft), neither swapped nor resold. Clients are prohibited from reselling or transferring the tickets for commercial purposes. Where a rebate applies, WIELS reserves the right to ask the Client to provide proof of the discount.

To prevent misuse, the Client must notify us by e-mail at least two days before the event if he has lost his tickets or of any other problems relating to the tickets.

The printed versions of e-tickets purchased or e-tickets presented on the Client’s smartphone shall be accepted upon entering the room.

Where a ticket has been reprinted, only the last version of the ticket shall be accepted.

K. WIELS’ liability
WIELS’s liability shall be limited to the cover available under its insurance policies.

L. Contractual relationship
The present General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the entirety of the contractual relationships between WIELS and the Client, to the exclusion of the buyer’s general terms and conditions. All and any amendments, derogations or additions to the present General Terms and Conditions of Sale must be laid down in a written agreement. WIELS shall be within its rights to amend the contents of its General Terms and Conditions of Sale and of its vendor sites at any time, and without prior written permission. The amendments shall apply from the time they are published on the website, unless otherwise agreed. Relations between WIELS and the Client shall be governed solely by Belgian law. Any disputes shall be exclusively heard by the courts of the legal district of Brussels as the sole courts of competent jurisdiction.
