Alexandre Mulongo
Alexandre Mulongo (1984, DC), a writer and member of the Picha collective, lives and works in Lubumbashi. Writing is the transversal element of his practice, inspiring and guiding his work. As a resident of Katanga, a major mining basin in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the social, environmental, political and economic implications of mining are at the heart of his approach. Through speculative narration, he explores imaginary worlds that offer a different perspective on the transformations caused by extractivism and toxicity in the region. It also opens doors to interdisciplinary collaborations.
