Workshops

12:00-13:00 | Workshop 1: Exploring sound differently with Lea Petra
Using experimental scores, this workshop invites participants to play, divert, brush against and strike sound material. A collective and joyfully undisciplined immersion, open to all. No need to know how to play: here, everything makes music.

Marcos 4

13:00-14:00 | Workshop 2: Dances to come with Marcos Arriola
This workshop explores the body as a porous space, traversed by muted gestures, glitchy dances, and rituals of the future. We will explore the body as shifting terrain, inhabited by shared resonances. A permeable body, open to imitation, influence and transmission.

Sabina 4

14:00-15:00 | Workshop 3: Laughing to resist with Sabina Scarlat
Starting with two surprising materials—slime, malleable and viscous, and laughter, spontaneous and communicative—we will open up a field of physical and imaginary exploration. A space to unlearn forms, relax gestures, and let other dances emerge; to move differently, closer to oneself, further from norms.

Performances

15:00-16:00 | Sounds, bodies, glitch
From Lea Petra's subversive sound play to Marcos Arriola's glitchy rituals, via Sabina Scarlat's wild laughter, three performances unfold on the edge of music, movement and fiction. The instrument becomes matter, the gesture a spell, the laughter a rupture. An invitation to feel, disturb, and recompose.

Screening

16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30 I Alzou by Ugo Woatzi (19’)
Alzou is a hybrid short film rooted in a mystical valley near a sacred sanctuary. It evokes the memory of a queer community deeply connected to nature, transformation, and spirituality. At the heart of their beliefs stands Alzou, a fluid deity and guardian of the river.

Closing

16:00-18:00 I DJ set by VTT, shared dinner & final guided tours of the MURSMURS installation in the Wiels Marais.

Garage29 is an atypical artistic laboratory, a shifting terrain where forms are invented at the intersection of the body, politics, and poetry. Over the years, it has developed projects in collaboration with a wide network of partners: artistic institutions, dramaturges, schools, residents, researchers, and associations. Together, they experiment with new ways of creating, transmitting, and building community.

At WIELS, Garage29 brings their ecosystem to life through a hybrid and collective programme: performances, workshops, listening sessions, and shared moments. Attention is given to the margins, to vulnerability, and the shifting of norms. An invitation to gather around emerging artistic gestures, to imagine new futures, and to engage in practices that re-enchant the relationship between art, the body, and society.
