Former WIELS resident Thomas Hitchcock presents his latest work at AFFILIATE, a space where alumni of the WIELS Residency Programme present their projects.
A sound performance by Liew Niyomkarn, in dialogue with the artworks on display, will take place on Saturday, 28 June at 17:00. No registration needed.

“Thinking of the belly more as thinking of it as a gut, a mishmash of things recorded and stored”, he riffed.
Thomas Hitchcock’s presentation at AFFILIATE traces the silhouette of a pomegranate’s belly to think of shapes and space, bringing in cold materials like black steel and milky coloured glass remnants, to speak of warm, held insides.

BIO I Thomas Hitchcock (b.1989) lives in Brussels and Vienna. Recent solo exhibitions include Abstract Entities, KIOSK, Ghent (2025), Channeling, The Green Corridor, Brussels (2024), Portals, Hush/Hush, Bruges (2023), Gloom, Cité des Arts, Paris (2023), and luuuuure, Wien Museum MUSA, Vienna (2021). His work was shown in group exhibitions at Kunstverein Eisenstadt (2024), Neue Galerie Graz (2022), Parallel Vienna (2022) as well as Campo dos Martires da Patria, Lisbon (2020). He is currently preparing his first monograph due to be presented in autumn 2025.
