Voormalig WIELS resident Thomas Hitchcock brengt zijn nieuwste werk naar AFFILIATE, een ruimte waar alumni van het WIELS residenten programma hun projecten presenteren.
Een performance door Liew Niyomkarn, in dialoog met het tentoongestelde werk, vindt plaats op zaterdag 28.06, 17:00. Geen registratie nodig.

“Thinking of the belly more as thinking of it as a gut, a mishmash of things recorded and stored”, he riffed. Thomas Hitchcock’s exhibition at AFFILIATE traces the silhouette of a pomegranate’s belly to think of shapes and space, bringing in cold materials like black steel and milky coloured glass remnants, to speak of warm, held insides.
BIO I Thomas Hitchcock (geb. 1989) woont in Brussel en Wenen. Recente solo-exposities zijn onder meer Abstract Entities, KIOSK, Gent (2025), Channeling, The Green Corridor, Brussel (2024), Portals, Hush/Hush, Brugge (2023), Gloom, Cité des Arts, Parijs (2023), en luuuuure, Wien Museum MUSA, Wenen (2021). Zijn werk was te zien in groepstentoonstellingen bij Kunstverein Eisenstadt (2024), Neue Galerie Graz (2022), Parallel Vienna (2022) en Campo dos Martires da Patria, Lissabon (2020). Momenteel werkt hij aan zijn eerste monografie die in het najaar van 2025 wordt gepresenteerd.
