Treat yourself to a creative break and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of textiles with artist and scenographer Leia Walz. Through a series of inspiring workshops, you'll bring abstract and poetic textile sculptures to life that can also serve as cozy cushions.
Leia Walz is a scenographer whose work moves through the intersection of spatial practice, material storytelling, and art mediation. Based in Brussels, she develops scenographies for exhibition and performance that grow from collaborative and often spontaneous encounters with space and material. Using what is locally available, she works with attention to where materials come from, where they go, and how labour shapes their transformation.
At WIELS, she creates Friends — soft, hand-made companions that accompany children as they engage with exhibitions in tactile and imaginative ways.
Practical:
The workshops are modular, allowing you to register for a single session or a full cycle (4 days), depending on your availability.
The workshops are open to everyone: adults and children aged 6 and above (children under 9 must be accompanied).
