Back2SoilBasics
What if the city were no longer a site of extraction, but of regeneration? In a world shaped by disconnection — from land, each other, and ancestral ways of knowing — B2SB invites us to imagine otherwise. Through a somatic ritual, a short film program, a film-in-progress presentation, a fundraiser for food sovereignty in Gaza, and a collective dinner, we honor interconnected struggles for liberation — from the Amazon to Palestine to the Democratic Republic of Congo — against ongoing colonial violence and genocide.
B2SB is a Brussels-based collective centering Black and People of Color, with roots in Ghent and spores elsewhere across the Global South. What binds us is a shared desire to (re)connect with the ground we're planted in. We believe collaboration with the more-than-human is essential for any flourishing future.
Through artistic interventions and workshops for children and adults, we aim to decolonize permaculture, making it accessible and rooted in broader climate and social justice movements. By sharing space and soil, exchanging knowledge(s), and practicing collective healing, we want to cultivate deeper, more meaningful forms of interconnectedness.
We believe cities need not remain bound to extractive logic. They can become porous, adaptive, and alive — living systems that prioritise repair, pleasure, and reciprocity.
