Internship in Museum Mediation and Production

WIELS is the leading centre for contemporary art in the heart of Europe’s capital. It’s a space for innovative ideas and creative experiences. WIELS aims to enrich the debate, provide new perspectives and stimulate the senses with a daring programme. We are looking for an intern in cultural mediation and production starting in January 2026 (duration and starting date flexible, minimum 4 months).

As part of our activities in 2026, we are seeking an enthusiastic intern who is passionate about culture, cultural mediation, organizing various cultural events, and the overall development of a project, from brainstorming through to implementation.

 

Expected tasks include: Mediation, Production and General Management

  • Assisting in the production and coordination of activities
  • Assisting with cultural mediation during workshops or meetings
  • Possible assistance in mediation during guided tours of exhibitions
  • Co-creation of participatory artistic workshops: setting up creative and innovative mediation tools, monitoring production and post-production
  • Assistance with administrative and logistical tasks
  • General administrative support according to the stages of the activities
  • Help writing content/text for various communication materials

 

Profile

  • You speak French and at least Dutch or English (ideally all three).
  • You are a student in communication, cultural management, cultural mediation, management, political science, law, or you can demonstrate relevant experience in the field.
  • You are creative, proactive, flexible, autonomous and well-organized.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are proficient with Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft and Google tools, and are autonomous in your use of digital tools.
  • You are passionate about participatory cultural practices and cultural mediation.

Terms

  • Unpaid internship covered under an educational agreement
  • Start date from January or February 2026
  • Full-time with occasional remote work
