Sasha Streshna
Sasha Streshna (b. 1987, Lviv, Soviet Ukraine) lives and works in Athens. Her paintings frequently depict ambiguous scenes that reference elusive historical and allegorical narratives, with recurring themes of violence, authority, and insurrection.
In her recent series, she turns to the motif of the waiting room — an in-between space where time and history seem suspended. Within these rooms, narratives are fluid and hallucinatory, with the past resurfacing in unexpected interpretations and symbols.
