Maider Garayo Urabayen
Maider Garayo Urabayen (1989, Pamplona) is an artist based in Navarra and the Basque Country, Spain. Her artistic practice combines visual, textual and material languages to create complex, layered and interconnected spaces. She investigates the materiality of images, their form, and their ability to generate open-ended questions. In her latest work, she explores printmaking, using both traditional and contemporary techniques. She often prints on materials like fabric, foam, and metal, exploring how the image transforms the material and vice versa. She also creates new structures charged with collective imagery and subculture codes to generate a form of symbolic communication.
Residency supported by Acción Cultural Española (ES).
