Désiré Sawadogo was born in 1989 in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso to a family specialised in mask making. Initially self-taught, he later obtained a degree in painting. He lives and works in Ouagadougou.

After obtaining a BPT in plastic arts at the National Institute for Artistic and Cultural Training in Ouagadougou, he devoted himself to contemporary art and leading painting workshops with children. His works are based on a chromatic investigation and stylistic blend. Through his paintings, he aims to promote his language, Mooré. He also attaches great importance to writing, which is the basis of everything. He likes to use African motifs on his walls, reflecting African cultural heritage.
