Disarming Design from Palestine is an inclusive design label that presents useful products from Palestine. From wearable fashions to kitchenware, office supplies and table games, all items are equally thought-provoking as they are functional. This collection represents Palestinian culture in its current reality, unveiling disarming views on life under occupation. The products are cultural objects narrating their own context. The goods are developed, designed and made in Palestine by contemporary designers, artists and students in collaboration with local producers and artisans. The unique designs are presented and sold locally and internationally through pop-up stores, exhibitions and a webshop.

The first mobile shop has installed itself in WIELS and will officially be opened with a ‘disarming night’ on Palestine. During this evening there will be presentations by Belgium based Dutch designer Annelys de Vet (co-founder of Disarming Design), Palestinian ecological space designer Mohammad Saleh (executive director Disarming Design) and film screenings of artisans workshops (edited and presented by Italian designer Teresa Palmieri) and more. The first set of products will be on sale and Palestinian Taybeh-bear will be served to accompany you.

During this evening there will be presentations by:

– Belgium based Dutch designer Annelys de Vet (co-founder of Disarming Design)

– Palestinian ecological space designer Mohammad Saleh (executive director of Disarming Design)

– videos of the production of the goods (edited and presented by Italian social designer Teresa Palmieri)

– and the avant-premiere of ‘Area C, system D’ by Dutch Russian designer and filmmaker Polina Medvedeva who shot this film in the Westbank alongside the Disarming Design create-shops
