Chloë Delanghe : Love Letters 2016

Residency
15 10 2016 14:00 18:00

Chloë Delanghe presents a new series of photographic works in the Project Room, one year after her residency period at WIELS. Delanghe was inspired by the turtledove and other platitudes of love, ubiquitous from Wales to Japan. She brings together two ancient and universal genres—portraiture and the love letter—which she approaches with an unconventional detachment that enables her to locate the intimacy within these representations.

Chloë Delanghe (b.1991, Ostend) is a visual artist and photographer who lives and works in Brussels. She recently exhibited her works at S.M.A.K. (Coming People, 2016), CINEMATEK (Seeing in the Dark, 2016, curated by Anouk De Clercq), Greylight Projects (A Cozy Mystery with Bite, 2015, curated by Niels Poiz & Astrid Mingels), InBetween Gallery (Horror Formalism, 2015), Courtisane Festival 2015, and the Beursschouwburg (An Evening with Auguste Orts #10, 2015). Her first book, titled Reasons to Be Cheerful, was published last year by WIELS and Motto Books, with the support of EXKi.
