Are Blytt's praxis embraces abstract painting and is focused on painterly questions, while also challenging them and testing the limits of painting. The relationship between image and text is essential in his works, relating to current social and political questions which makes them both formally and conceptually charged.
Are Blytt (b. 1981 in Bergen, Norway; lives and works in Oslo) holds an MA in Fine Art from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, Norway. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Eight Paintings' (2017), Galleri K, Oslo; 'Red Sun Rising' (2015), Kunsthalle CCA Andratx, Mallorca, Spain.
